Suzy Arrington graduated from UNC Charlotte with a degree in fine arts. For decades she built a career as a self-employed metalsmith designing high end jewelry for galleries, designers, and private clientele. In 2006, Suzy and her husband brought home Luther, a Bullmastiff puppy whose fearful disposition would change the course of Suzy’s life.
On a self-imposed mission to help Luther overcome his anxieties, Suzy started taking him to training classes, seeking out professional trainers, and soon began to attend seminars and to do extensive research into canine behavior. Over a period of several years all of this activity led Suzy to a number of certifications, and eventually to teaching and training.
Suzy is now a Certified Professional Dog Trainer who has worked in a high volume shelter setting; taught group classes in basic obedience; designed and taught reactive dog group classes; was a mentor trainer for CATCH academy; and is a Certified Dog Walker. Most recently, Suzy worked for five years alongside Dr. Emily Levine, DACVB, as one of very few trainers in the country associated directly with a board certified veterinary behaviorist. Suzy is a compassionate, committed teacher offering private training and behavior consulting to help dogs and their people address behavior problems big and small.
